Arthritis Food: An Overview

Arthritis is thought to affect at least one out of five individuals in the United States. There are many different types of arthritis, from rheumatoid to osteoarthritis.

There are many different foods that decrease inflammation in the body, which is the major concern for those with arthritis.
Proper arthritis foods would be those that decrease inflammation rather than increase it. This is even true for those who are on anti-inflammatory medications for their arthritis. 

Besides beneficial foods for arthritis, it is also important to maintain a proper body weight. Excess weight can make arthritis symptoms worse. Body fat can trigger certain hormones and chemicals in the body that actually increase levels of inflammation, so being overweight will only ad to inflammation in the body. Luckily, most arthritis food that decreases levels of inflammation will also help you to lose body fat.
